Hiper-realism or realism is a style of painting in which the artist should follow a series of pictorial rules, so that the final results become a painting with quality. The perspective, the shadow/light contrasts and the mixing the colours in the palette, are some important aspects to take into account when you are painting realistically. It fascinates me to be able to capture on canvas the texture of materials. Old doors always have a story to tell in its gouges and scratches. The worn wood, chipped paint, and rust on the locks are elements that entice me because of the great variety of possibilities in terms of pictorials.
