I was born on January 21st 1973 in Ponta Delgada, Azores.
I completed my secondary education in the Azores and I continued my studies in the Netherlands, in 1999, joining the Academy of Arts in the city of Maastricht.
Two years later, I left the Academy. Although it had been an enriching and rewarding period, the truth is that I couldn't adapt to the demands of academic education. My need to learn the genre of classical painting took me to Valkenburg, a town South of Maastricht where I had lessons with the painter Jo van den Brand for a year and a half.
I returned to São Miguel in 2003 but my activity as a professional painter began in 2005 when I decided to open a studio, where I still teach art, sell painting supplies and where I paint.(Photo Gallery - Studio).
Along with an artist friend of mine, I organize a bi-annual cultural event called Arte Viva, which consists of a meeting of various artists from various cultural performances with the aim of promoting art. My works can be found in private collections, in public places in the Azores and Portugal and abroad as well: Presidency of the republic, European Parliament, Principality of Monaco, Military Collegiate, University of the Azores, American Consulate of the Azores, City Council of Ponta Delgada, City Council of Vila Franca, City Council of Ribeira grande, Bensaude group, Museum Manuel Arriaga, Military Museum of the Azores, Court of Auditors, Ernesto do Canto Library, Caixa Geral de Depósitos (bank) and CTT - Correios de Portugal.
